On 3 September 2025, we hosted our first ‘All Bolton Social Prescribers Wellbeing Day’ at Wild and Fruity, a local community space set up by our Green Social Prescriber in the Central North Neighbourhood (Chorley Roads PCN).
The day was about more than just wellbeing; it was a chance to bring people together and strengthen neighbourhood working across Bolton. By connecting social prescribers and local VCFSE partners, we were able to:
- Share resources and approaches that are already working well across different neighbourhoods
- Swap ideas about supporting people more effectively
- Collaborate on projects, exploring opportunities to work together
- Build relationships and trust across teams, creating a stronger network of support
One of the exciting ideas behind this day is that each area will take turns hosting, giving everyone a chance to showcase the work they’re doing, how they’re collaborating with local services, and the projects they’re leading. It’s a great way to celebrate what’s happening locally while learning from each other.
The day also included some lovely activities. Deb Whip from Loft Wellbeing led a calming yoga session, and we shared a healthy lunch and even did some cooking over the fire. It created a relaxed, informal space for conversations and connections to flourish.
The next All Bolton Wellbeing Day will be hosted at Beechcroft Village by the East Neighbourhood by the Breightmet and Little Lever SPLWs, continuing the chance for each area to share their work and collaborate across the Bolton.
This event really showed what neighbourhood working is all about, sharing skills, knowledge, and local assets to build stronger, more connected communities. It was inspiring to see everyone come together so positively and collaboratively.
